Clinical psychologist

I have a combined master's degree in systemic clinical psychology and several professional training courses, including an advanced specialisation in psychological coaching, an advanced double specialisation in clinical sexology and couple therapy, an advanced specialisation in cognitive-behavioral therapies with adults, and an advanced course in scheme therapy.

Over the past two years, I have focused on issues relating to romantic relationships, from sexuality to processes of loving grief, via new forms of relational models, toxic and abusive relationships, and the impact on self-esteem, levels of individual anxiety, and structuring beliefs that support these processes.

My work's goal is to be a vehicle of assistance in the process of individual change, so that the person can build more conscious and healthy relationships, not only with others but, most importantly, with himself.

I believe in the potential for change in everyone, as long as there is a commitment to do so, and I believe that humour is an essential working tool for this to happen. I am a lighthearted and enjoyable person, which contrasts sharply with my love of horror films and detective novels.

Graduated in Clinical Psychology from the University of Lisbon in 1996, with a master's degree from ISPA on Childhood Psychosis, and a member of the Society of Clinical Psychology with training in psychoanalytically inspired psychotherapy.

Mental illness and its various facets—the crossroads that the psyche sometimes unexpectedly creates, altering people's lives like mental tsunamis—have instilled in me an ever more vivid and active curiosity about the importance of mental health. Addressing the suffering that sometimes breaks the thin barrier between health and illness has led us to understand and accept that health is our most precious asset. Without it, enthusiasm and the ability to feel alive and active decline.

In 2009, I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada (ISPA). I am a member of the Portuguese Society for Attention Deficit (SPDA). 

I have 17 years of experience in several areas of psychology, where I have integrated teams in various contexts with children, adults, and the elderly. In addition, I performed psychological and neuropsychological assessments in institutions, study centres, schools, and private clinics.

I graduated from ISPA with a degree in Clinical Psychology and a postgraduate degree in Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention. In 2017, I began training in Systemic and Family Intervention, by the Portuguese Society of Family Therapy.

I've spent the last 12 years working as a clinical psychologist in the context of social intervention, working with people at all stages of life, from children to the elderly. Since 2019, I have been performing private clinical work with experience in online consultations.

As a professional, I assist those who come to me in activating their internal resources by creating a safe space in which they can express their suffering and we can together attribute new meanings and narrative changes, reconstructing stories.
