The family and couples therapy best suited for you.

It seeks to give families the skills to deal as best as possible with the challenges they face, improving the relationship between its members.

It is a space where all members can speak openly about their needs, objectives, experiences and expectations, with support and mediation from a psychologist with this specialization.

Family therapy

It seeks to help improve communication, resolve conflicts or manage difficult phases and events such as the loss of a family member, a divorce, an illness or parent-child problems during adolescence.

Family therapy can lead, for example, to the adoption of healthier parenting styles, the establishment of limits with growing children or the exercise of discipline, without being authoritarian or overly permissive.

Couples therapy

It requires the participation of both parties and is indicated when there are challenges that the couple is not managing satisfactorily: money issues; sex; infidelity; physical or mental health; infertility; emotional distance; or frequent conflicts, for example.

A specialized therapist works with the couple, helping them understand the dynamics involved in the relationship. During the process, they help them build a safe space where both learn to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, rebuild trust and improve their satisfaction with the relationship.

Clinical Psychologist with Systemic and Family Intervention Training

OPP Professional Certificate nº 14557

I graduated from ISPA with a degree in Clinical Psychology and a postgraduate degree in Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention. In 2017, I began training in Systemic and Family Intervention, by the Portuguese Society of Family Therapy.

I've spent the last 12 years working as a clinical psychologist in the context of social intervention, working with people at all stages of life, from children to the elderly. Since 2019, I have been performing private clinical work with experience in online consultations.

As a professional, I assist those who come to me in activating their internal resources by creating a safe space in which they can express their suffering and we can together attribute new meanings and narrative changes, reconstructing stories.

I consider myself to be dedicated and committed to my work. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, music, and spending time with my family.

Clinical Psychologist

I hold a degree in Clinical and Health Psychology and a specialized training in family and couples therapy at CRIAP. Throughout my experience, I have had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people who felt stuck, anxious, and lost, helping them to build their own path toward a more authentic and meaningful life, and to recover the most profound and valuable relationship: self-love.

I work with a personalized approach, dedicated to the relationship with each client, because I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for the success of individual processes. I identify with the systemic approach and emotion-focused therapy.

Personally, I enjoy reading novels that depict real life, traveling, walking by the sea, and attending concerts by artists I admire.

Clinical psychologist and psychotherapist

Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology and in Psychotherapy. Individual psychotherapy for youth, adults and seniors.

I've been a psychotherapist for 20 years, with a diverse, consolidated, and innovative curriculum, due to the excellent scientific, theoretical, and technological expansion that I've been following in Portugal and abroad, and which also demonstrate the great success of online clinical sessions.

I actively and continuously seek adaptation to each person's unique way of being and current circumstances, whose life context has led them to a place of suffering from which they must leave in order to find mental well-being.

I believe it is critical to provide adequate information on all important aspects of psychotherapeutic work, and to establish the means chosen from the start, which can and must be continually adapted. We will create a safe and unique relationship together, using various modes of expression (speech or silence, artistic expressions or facts, history or descriptions, dreams or realities, etc.), which will then be improved and evaluated. In general, the goal is to increase self-awareness, active choice possibilities, and the quantity and quality of available mental resources. Together, I will help you to achieve greater emotional balance, more meaningful personal achievements, and more satisfying relationships.

I am a dedicated, authentic, and enthusiastic person at work, as well as in my personal life. I enjoy learning, chatting with friends, watching my children grow up, listening to music, and other types of art. More recently, sea and snow sports have also become important for my well-being.

Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist

Graduated in Clinical Psychology from the University of Lisbon in 1996, with a master's degree from ISPA on Childhood Psychosis, and a member of the Society of Clinical Psychology with training in psychoanalytically inspired psychotherapy.

Mental illness and its various facets—the crossroads that the psyche sometimes unexpectedly creates, altering people's lives like mental tsunamis—have instilled in me an ever more vivid and active curiosity about the importance of mental health. Addressing the suffering that sometimes breaks the thin barrier between health and illness has led us to understand and accept that health is our most precious asset. Without it, enthusiasm and the ability to feel alive and active decline.

It seems relatively unlikely that someone can heal alone and in solitude. Therefore, I offer what I believe to be most precious—experience, technique, theoretical knowledge, and the ability to welcome those who seek to share their suffering.

I have extensive experience in the clinical follow-up of children, adolescents, and their families, in both individual and family therapy.

I worked in the British National Health System and in child protection services in the United Kingdom, between 2010 to 2019, and 2023 and 2025, respectively – where I supported children and adolescents with psychological, emotional, and behavioral difficulties and their families.

I have also worked as a therapeutic support for adults, both in private settings and in community and hospital settings, both in Portugal and the United Kingdom.

I have developed and continue to develop clinical work at a private level with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, with face-to-face care, in the Algarve region, as well as online. I also collaborated between 2019 and 2023 with a clinic in partnership with Santa Casa da Misericórdia, where I developed clinical work with institutionalized children and adolescents, including psychological assessment and therapeutic monitoring.

Throughout my professional development, I have received additional training in a variety of intervention areas, including: anxiety, eating disorders, psychological trauma, resilience, domestic violence, self-injurious behaviors, intervention with couples, intervention with children, and intervention with adolescents.

I have worked as a trainer and Clinical Supervisor in Family Therapy in the United Kingdom.

I am a person who enjoys new challenges and is always looking to learn something new, both on a personal and professional level. I believe that investing in quality Mental Health creates a society that is better able to assist us in overcoming our challenges and taking full advantage of our human potential, with more opportunities for all. I have a combined master's degree in systemic clinical psychology and several professional training courses, including an advanced specialisation in psychological coaching, an advanced double specialisation in clinical sexology and couple therapy, an advanced specialisation in cognitive-behavioral therapies with adults, and an advanced course in scheme therapy.

Over the past two years, I have focused on issues relating to romantic relationships, from sexuality to processes of loving grief, via new forms of relational models, toxic and abusive relationships, and the impact on self-esteem, levels of individual anxiety, and structuring beliefs that support these processes.

My work's goal is to be a vehicle of assistance in the process of individual change, so that the person can build more conscious and healthy relationships, not only with others but, most importantly, with himself.

I believe in the potential for change in everyone, as long as there is a commitment to do so, and I believe that humour is an essential working tool for this to happen. I am a lighthearted and enjoyable person, which contrasts sharply with my love of horror films and detective novels.

Clinical psychology; Sexual Counselling; Victim Support Technique

Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology.

I began my professional career in social work, but quickly realized that this was not what I wanted to do for a living. I wanted something more intense and deeper, so I changed my major to psychology.

In this profession, I learned about myself, I discovered myself, and I met and discovered amazing people who came to me and trusted me with their stories, secrets, and fantasies. I realized how much responsibility being in a relationship entail. I wanted to learn more and give more of myself, so I specialized in sexuality and in couple's relationships, embracing the issues of healthy relationships as opposed to violent relationships, sexuality and the experience of eroticism and pleasure, sexual dysfunctions, sexual orientations, and non-normative gender identities and expressions.

I devote myself entirely to developing rewarding relationships of empathy and trust with people who bravely seek my assistance.
