The psychiatrist is a medical specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of mental symptoms or illnesses: asks questions, clarifies doubts, diagnoses, guides, proposes a treatment plan and monitors the treatment process. The content of consultations is absolutely confidential.

Psychiatry is indicated for overcoming mental health problems, such as: anxiety; depression; obsessive-compulsive disorder; bipolar disorder; post-traumatic stress disorder; sleep disorders; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in adults; personality disorders; psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia); addictions (alcohol and drugs), etc.

The intervention provides for the prescription of medications, but also so-called psychoeducation. The psychiatrist, like the psychologist, can be a psychotherapist.
