The psychological support and psychotherapy for LGP best suited for you

We have psychologists fluent in Portuguese sign language who understand the culture of the Deaf community.

Anyone who feels continuously sad, anxious or worried, anyone who has sleep problems, difficulties concentrating or no longer feels pleasure in activities they used to enjoy benefits from seeking the help of a psychologist.

Research shows that the best treatment for those suffering from anxiety or depression is "talking therapy", a communication relationship that is established directly between patient and therapist.

In the case of a Deaf Person, this can be problematic because the involvement of an interpreter to mediate communication makes it difficult for the intimacy and emotional openness between patient and psychologist, which are fundamental for this relationship. That is why it may be decisive that the service be provided by a professional properly prepared for this purpose.

Psychotherapist and clinical psychologist

Clinical and Health Psychology Specialization

With over 20 years of clinical psychology experience in various areas and contexts, I have recently developed clinical practice in a private practice. More recently, in 2017, I began what I consider to be a new phase of my professional life: intervening with deaf people, a very enriching opportunity, since deafness is an unknown world, due to the communication barriers it imposes.

"I am human, and I think nothing human is alien to me." (Terencio). I've always been fascinated by human behavior, and I realized that this was the path I wanted to take: psychology, listening to and understanding the Other in his suffering. Psychotherapy allows us to gain greater knowledge of ourselves and has as its main objective the reduction of suffering, through the understanding of the internal factors that may be at its origin. In my consultations, I am concerned with ensuring an environment that helps in this journey, in search of new opportunities to restore hope to people's lives.

I am a family-oriented person with a wide range of interests. I enjoy listening to music, but I also appreciate silence. I value the opportunity to share visions and knowledge that comes with investing in lifelong learning and teamwork.

I graduated as a Clinical Psychologist (ISPA) from the Socidade Portuguesa de Psicologia Clinica 27 years ago, specializing in Psychotherapies. I am also a Portuguese Sign Language Interpreter.

As someone who is deeply concerned about human rights and the freedom to express oneself, I work with the LGBTQI community with eagerness to help them achieve fuller acceptance of themselves and a more integrated family life. Experienced in assisting with "coming out" processes, self-acceptance (self-esteem reinforcement), and working with Rainbow families."

My approach is client-centered, sensitive, and empathetic, with the goal of "feeling seen and understood." The development of greater self-analysis and self-knowledge capacity is the key to becoming more responsible and in tune with yourself.

I am a person who is deeply connected to nature, particularly animals, and to the overall cycles of life. People are "the spice" of life for me, each one a distinct expression to respect and develop into the best version of themselves.

Clinical, Health and Educational Psychologist

Anxiety and Depression. Self-awareness, self-esteem, and personal development. Parenting and Family Relationships. Psychological Support for Adults and Young People.

I am a graduate of ISPA and Universidade Lusófona. Since 2009, I have been working in a private practice, developing a special interest in the field of anxiety and gaining specific knowledge and experience in the forms of cognitive and behavioral intervention, specifically through Mindfulness, with a strong emphasis on young adults.

I provide a comfortable, trusting, and close environment in which each client learns to prioritize themselves.

Humans fascinate me because of their ability to think, evolve, and reinvent themselves.

In my spare time, I enjoy socializing with family and friends, but I also enjoy getting out on my bike and working out my body and mind. I enjoy nature, its sounds and silences, liquid water, and the sun.
